I was working in academic tRNA research and had just read about HC Bio in a news article when it clicked for me — this approach could be revolutionary for patients with rare diseases. I knew that I needed to be a part of making it a reality.

What is unique about HC Bioscience’s approach and technology?
A:
We look at disease from a different point of view than most drug developers. Our tRNAs don’t target genes. Instead, they recognize a specific type of mutation no matter where it appears in the genome. This allows one engineered tRNA molecule to treat many different diseases that are caused by the same type of mutation.
