hC Bioscience is dedicated to improving the lives of patients with the development of first-in-class tRNA-based therapeutics targeting protein dysfunction. hC Bioscience’s innovative approach to precision protein editing has the potential to treat genetically defined conditions which account for 10-15% of all genetic disease patients.

tRNA as a molecule can be viewed as a platform from which many variations can be implemented to treat a wide variety of diseases. As part of the Platform Discovery team, you will develop novel and creative uses of this platform and gather data to translate these new applications towards clinic-ready products. Ideal candidates will marry expertise in cell biology, RNA biology, assay development. In this critical position, candidate will have the opportunity to be embedded in multidisciplinary projects including external partnerships with CRO and academic institutions, enable strategic conversations with leadership team, and manage /mentor junior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop methods to analyze tRNA expression from cell culture and diverse animal tissues
  • Execute a variety of cell-based assays to explore cellular responses to tRNA therapy
  • Design and manage multi-omic experiments including ribosome profiling, mRNA-seq, tRNA-seq, and proteomics, incorporating CROs and academic partners.
  • Flexibility to incorporate new model systems for cancer and rare diseases.
  • Collaborate and communicate with multiple internal and external teams.
  • Rigorous documentation and note keeping

Qualifications & Experience:

  • PhD with 2+ years of experience, ideally in a bio/pharmaceutical setting
  • Expertise in mammalian cell biology and cell-based assay development
  • Advanced molecular biology techniques
  • Proficiency in software such as Graph Pad, Microsoft office etc. for data analysis and figure generation is required. Experience with R or Python is preferred.
